Spring 2012 MCAS Testing Reminders
- May 15 - Grade 10 Mathematics Session 1
- May 16 - Grade 10 Mathematics Session 2
- June 5 - Grade 9 Biology Session 1
- June 6 - Grade 9 Biology Session 2
Make-up examinations will be scheduled through the Grade Level Office. Please contact your child's guidance counselor or assistant principal should you have any questions or concerns
Student Crossing and Drop-Off Advisories
Webster St. Crossing
Students who use the Webster St. entrance in the morning MUST use the crosswalks located at either end of the Webster St. parking lot when crossing Webster St. The crossing guards have reported several instances in which students that did not use the crosswalks were nearly struck by oncoming vehicles. Please instruct your children to cross Webster St. only at the two crosswalks which are staffed by NPD crossing guards. We will continue to convey the same message here at school. Thanks for your help!
Afternoon Pick-Up
Afternoon student pick-up is permitted only at the Webster Street entrance and not at the Admiral Gracey entrance.
Side Street Drop-Off
The school has received several complaints from neighbors of NHS regarding students that are dropped off on adjoining side streets. The main issues include dropping students off in neighbors' front yards, vehicle speed, and cars turning around in neighbors' driveways. To ensure student safety, NHS strongly encourages drivers to drop-off students at designated areas on school property (either at the Webster St. and Admiral Gracey entrances) rather than on adjoining streets such as Lindbergh, Brookline, and Holland. For speedier access and departure from the drop-off points, it is best to drop-off students prior to 7:45 a.m. as traffic volume is greatest between 7:45 -8:00 a.m. Volume also increases significantly during inclement weather, so drivers are asked to plan accordingly by
