LIBRARY FACILITY

lnstructional Areas - There are multiple instructional areas in the Library: the Library classroom and 3 table areas. "Reserved" signs indicate tables and computers reserved for classes; students from study are welcome to use areas not reserved.

Computer and Electronic Research Areas

  • Scheduled classes have priority use of the computers; study hall students always have 8 computers reserved for their use.  They may use additional computers if available.
  • LAPTOP computers are available for students in scheduled classes, under the supervision of a teacher. Each laptop must be signed out by the individual student, who is responsible for its use and safe return.
  • Electronic research takes priority over word processing tasks.
  • Playing games, visiting chatrooms and using instant messenger are never allowed; email for purposes other than school is prohibited.

All students must have a signed Acceptable Use Policy on file to use computers during a study, before school or after school.

Conference Room -
The small meeting room is available for adult-sponsored meetings with an adult in attendance

Copy Machine
- A photocopy machine is available at 10 cents per page; it is for the copying of reference books that do not circulate. When a class is scheduled in the Library, class members may be given complimentary copies. Students needing multiple copies of papers for class projects should plan on getting copies at a copy center.

Use of the Printers - Whenever possible, students should print materials at home by emailing research materials, or saving files to their flash drives. Students may print 3-4 pages of class assignments and research materials if they need the copies immediately for class. If students need to print long files, they must first ask permission from a member of the Library staff.
