Program Enrollment

How is program enrollment determined?

PLC is available for students recommended by teachers and/or school counselors.  Enrollment is reviewed per semester; as students become increasingly independent in successfully managing curricular demands, they may be moved out of PLC in order to allow space for students in greater need of assistance.

Transitions is available to all students in need of short-term support to transition back to school after an extended absence.

Enrollment is determined at the re-entry meeting from the Enrollment in the Connections Academic Program (CAP) is recommended by teachers and/or guidance counselors for students who require on-going social-emotional support in order to access curricular material.

In order to be enrolled in Skills Center, including Insight and the Skills and Post-Graduate Program (SPGP), students must have an IEP, with corresponding goals and objectives.  Similarly, students must have an IEP to receive related services, including but not limited to Counseling, Speech & Language and Occupational Therapy.

Students who are eligible for special education services at Needham High School receive services depending on individual student need. Only students on an Individualized Educational Program (IEP) are entitled to special education services.
